Ministry Teams
Much of the work of the church is divided into ministry teams. Each ministry team has two members of Session serving as a chair and co-chair. There are 3-5 additional members for each team. See below for team details and chair/co-chair names.
Deacons

Responsible for providing the elements of Communion, paraments, arranging greeters and nursery attendants during worship, flowers for sanctuary, and special decorations for Christmas and Easter. Deacons make periodic contact with all members of the church. They also send notes of encouragement to the sick and first-time visitors, visit the sick and shut-ins, provide transportation to worship to those needing assistance, assist the pastor with home communion as needed, and update the prayer list annually.

Christian Education
|
Responsible for all things related to children’s Sunday School including curriculum, teachers, supplies, and attendance recognition. Also tasked with planning for VBS, youth group(s), Palm Sunday, and Christmas programs.

Evangelism
|
Responsible for community outreach including organizing mission projects for local not-for-profits and joining mission projects organized by other groups in the community. Also tasked with coordinating Scout Sunday and the fritter fundraiser during Spoon River Drive. Promotion/marketing for church events also falls to this group.

Fellowship

Responsible for quarterly mission dinners, food pantry outreach, weekly fellowship, and the annual bazaar/soup dinner fundraiser.

Membership
|
In accordance with the Book of Order, responsible for the annual review of the active member list.

Nominating
|
Responsible for providing a slate of nominees for the church offices of Elders, Deacons, and Trustees in addition to the Pastor Nominating Committee, when needed. This team is made up of two at-large members of the congregation as well church leaders that are ending their terms including: Session Elders, one Deacon, and one Trustee.

Stewardship & Finance
|
Responsible for preparing budget, stewardship letters, notes of gratitude for memorial contributions, and the 4th of July fundraiser. Also tasked with interviewing all church employees annually as well as the hiring of church staff including janitor, secretary and organist.

Technology
|
Responsible for all things related to technology in the church including but not limited to internet access, computers, printers, copiers, phones, fax, church website, YouTube, Facebook, etc.

Trustees
|
Responsible for maintaining all buildings and property owned by the church as well insurance.

Worship
|
Responsible for all things involved with worship including updating weekly message on outside sign, recording worship attendance, filling the pulpit in pastor's absence, arranging communion servers as well as bell ringers, acolytes, and AV operators. Also, organize Lay Sundays as designated by Session.
