Egypt: Joseph's Journey from Prison to Palace
VBS 2025
VBS 2025 was a very fun week. We had between 53 and 64 children each day, a total of 74 children enrolled. There were 10 teen helpers and 27 adult helpers. The Word of God was told through songs, Bible lessons, skits, recreations, crafts, service, and through food.
The program this year followed Joseph from being thrown in the well, sold into slavery, and put in prison. Then he is put in charge of the Grain, and later reunites with his family. As well as forgiving his brothers.
Night 1
Bible Story: Joseph interprets dreams in prison. (Genesis 40:1-23)
Bible Verse: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Bible point: God Gives us Hope
Night 2
Bible Story: Pharaoh puts Joseph in charge. (Genesis 41:1-40)
Bible Verse: "In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well." (Romans 12:6)
Bible Point: God gives us special abilities.
Night 3
Bible Story: Joseph leads Egypt through famine. (Genesis 41:41-42:5)
Bible verse: “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.” (James 1:5)
Bible Point: God gives us wisdom.
Night 4
Bible Story: Joseph forgives his brothers. (Genesis 42:6–45:15)
Bible Verse: “But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love.”
Bible Point: God gives us forgiveness.
Night 5
Bible Story: Joseph settles his family in Egypt. (Genesis 45:16-47:27)
Bible Verse: "For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:26)
Bible Point: God gives us a family.
Mission
This year's mission was to fundraise money/supplies for the Famer's Closet. The reason we chose this mission is so the children can see how they can make a difference in their own community. The supplies will help other children that they go to school with be able to have the supplies that they need to start the school year. The children and their families donated $850 in monetary donations for the Farmer's Closet plus some school supplies.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers & teenage helpers that helped make VBS 2025 another success. Also a big thanks to the Farmington First Baptist Church that partnered with us again this year, by providing staff and financial contributions. As well as the United Methodist Church of Farmington that partnered with us this year, by providing staff and financial contributions. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year, for VBS 2026!
